About the Siesta Key Free Trolley

The Siesta Key Free Trolley is part of Sarasota County’s Breeze Transit system. Formally known as the 77 Siesta Islander, the trolley travels Siesta Key from the south end at Turtle Beach all the way up to Siesta Public Beach and into Siesta Village. From there, the trolley loops around Canal and Calle de La Siesta, and heads south again.

With multiple trolleys on the 77 Siesta Islander Route, you rarely have to wait more than 20 to 30 minutes for a ride. The open-air trolleys are also wheelchair accessible and child-friendly. Real-time tracking is possible with the Breeze Rider app, which is available in the Apple and Google Play app stores.

Where Can I Catch the Trolley?

Additionally, approximately 46 marked stops line the route from Siesta Key Village to Turtle Beach, making it easy to catch the trolley. However, you can also flag the driver down at any point along Midnight Pass Road south of Stickney Point Road—including right in front of the Sea Shell! To travel north, simply cross the street to Captain Curt’s, the closest marked stop for the Village and public beach

What are the Siesta Key Free Trolley Hours?

The 77 Siesta Islander runs from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day of the week. The exceptions are these holidays:

  • New Year’s Day: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Thanksgiving Day: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Christmas Eve: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • New Year’s Eve: 8 a.m. to 1 a.m.

For those New Year’s Eve revelers, this is a safe way to get around on a holiday that traditionally involves one last midnight toast.

Should I Tip My Trolley Driver?
