Why is Crescent Beach a must-see spot on Siesta Key beaches? Close your eyes and picture your perfect beach escape—white sand under your feet, blue skies above you, calm and clear water, and a refreshing breeze coming through.
Open your eyes and you’ll be sitting on Crescent Beach just minutes from your beautiful room at Sea Shell Condominium. What could be better than being just steps away from one of the most beautiful beaches on the Gulf of Mexico?
It is the perfect getaway spot for a romantic vacation or a family adventure. There’s so much to see and do on this part of the island — from the beautiful beach, to incredible snorkeling at the Point of Rocks, and great eateries, there’s something here for everyone.
Just south of the main public access point of Siesta Beach, Crescent Beach has soft sand and shallow swimming waters. With only two public access points to the beach itself, this location offers a more private experience than the other beaches on the island.
The white sand, clear blue water and incredible sunsets provide a romantic setting for you and your special someone, or a safe and relaxing experience for your family as you build sandcastles and splash in the sparkling waters.
The luxurious and laid back vibe of this area is second to none. This beach is enjoyable during the beautiful daylight hours, or even at night when gorgeous and vibrant sunsets are displayed over the crescent moon shaped beach.
Crescent Beach is about a mile and a half long, and if you walk down south on the powdery sand a bit you’ll come upon a surprise called Point-of-Rocks; an ecologically diverse and unique area with limestone rocks, shallow clear water, and some of the best snorkeling you’ll find on Florida’s Gulf coast. It’s a naturally occurring boundary between Crescent Beach and Turtle Beach.
Many say once you get to the Point of Rocks it’s like another world. They extend about 300 feet out into the ocean, and the water there is often visible to the ocean floor. You’ll find a variety of shorebirds, crustaceans and fish species that make this area their home. Many snorkelers come here to swim along with the diverse ocean wildlife and dream-like dolphins that frequent the area.
After a long day basking in the sun and exploring Point-of-Rocks, the Crescent Beach area offers a plethora of restaurants and bars nearby for a bite to eat and a refreshing drink.
Head to the Turtle Beach Grill for some classic bar food to enjoy under the tiki inspired roof. If you’re looking for something a little more upscale, you’ll want to check out Ophelia’s on the Bay, which provides some of the area’s best seafood and a menu with vegetarian friendly and gluten-free options. If casual fare is what you desire there are spots for that too! Grab a slice at City Pizza or an ice cream cone to cool off your day at The Orange Octopus.
For stunning white sand, a cool ocean breeze, snorkeling adventures, and delectable food choices that will satisfy all of your cravings, the Crescent Beach area is a premier destination on Siesta Key! All of these attractions will leave you wanting more—you might even find yourself spending most of your Siesta Key vacation exploring everything that this part of the island has to offer!
